Smoke Clouds Kickoff Times for College Football in Oregon Amid Air Quality Concerns

September 7, 2017

Officials with The University of Oregon and Oregon State University continue to monitor air quality updates and the progress of dozens of wildfires that continue to rage in the Pacific Northwest, primarily in Central Oregon and Washington. Earlier this week the University of Oregon moved practices westward along the cost to aviod issues with smoke from the wildfires.

As Saturday approaches, officials are considering kickoff time alterations if smoke from the fires continues to be an issue. Air quality issues are also of great concern to fans as well as athletes. Pac-12 Officials are also monitoring and will weigh-in on any schedule changes. We will continue to monitor the situation in Oregon as both in-state schools prepare to welcome Nebraska and Minnesota for games this weekend.
